Highlands Micro School is a small, independent, non-religious K–5 school in Northwest Denver, where curiosity guides learning and every child is known.

We believe children are capable, curious learners who grow academically, socially, and emotionally at their own pace. Our student-centered approach combines thoughtful instruction with hands-on exploration, creative expression, and meaningful experiences beyond the classroom. We make room for children’s questions and interests while providing the support and challenge they need to grow.

At Micro, relationships are at the heart of learning. Our teachers partner with families to create a nurturing community where children feel a sense of belonging, take on challenges, and learn to care for one another. We help students build strong academic foundations alongside independence, confidence, and the ability to solve problems and contribute to their communities.

With a maximum enrollment of 26 students, Micro offers an intentionally small setting where teachers can know each child’s strengths, interests, and needs. Our students are supported by two full-time teachers and two part-time support teachers.
