In addition to our many field work experiences throughout the school year, our learners and teachers set off on two overnight trips each year. Past adventures have taken us all over the state of Colorado, from La Foret in Colorado Springs, to Snow Mountain Ranch outside Winter Park, to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. We’ve even be found as far away as Santa Fe, New Mexico!
Highlands Micro School’s overnight adventures are designed to challenge students physically and mentally, while fostering personal growth and teamwork. Through these experiences, students develop independence, confidence, and resilience – all of which contribute to their overall success in school and beyond. With the guidance of experienced instructors, learners explore new environments, push their boundaries, and gain a deeper appreciation of the world around them. These adventures provide unique and unforgettable learning experiences that enrich each child’s education and help them become well-rounded individuals.
