At Highlands Micro School, we have our own shuttle bus, so we are able to go where the learning takes us. We day-trip all over the Denver Metro Area on trips we call Fieldwork.
Aside from the more “traditional” school trips like museums and zoos, we take advantage of Mother Nature right outside our door and enjoy day hikes in the mountains and proximity to our local state parks while investigating things like insects, plants, land formations and the water shed process.

Our bus also conveniently takes us to places very close by, like our resident carpenter’s shop or to one of our many local parks for our weekly P.E. enrichment. One of our crew’s favorite activities is sledding in Jefferson Park.
