KIMBERLY YOUNG – TEACHER IN RESIDENCE

Kimberly is our teacher in residence from the Stanley Teachers Prep program this year. She has previous experience working with children as an elementary school teacher and health educator. Several years ago, she taught kindergarten as a long term substitute and was the first grade teacher at a private school. The past six years she has worked as a health educator for Kaiser Permanente serving children and families. Her specialty was teaching healthy eating/active living classes and as part of this work she was invited to speak at last year’s Childhood Obesity conference in San Diego.

Kimberly loves getting outdoors and going backpacking, hiking, downhill and cross country skiing. Kimberly also enjoys cooking, playing with her two dogs and is having fun learning to play the guitar.
